|Liège, site de Bavière en Outremeuse|B3 : Pôle des Savoirs et Pépinière d’Entreprises

Twenty years ago (in 2003), Michel Fourgon became the new Composition professor at the Royal Conservatory of Liège. On this occasion, Crlg, the Centre Henri Pousseur, Ensemble Hopper, and the Province of Liège joined forces to propose a festive concert scheduled for December 20th in the performance hall of B3, the Province of Liège’s newly inaugurated building. During this evening, Ensemble Hopper, under the musical direction of François Deppe, will perform works by the composition class professors, pieces by former students, and a creation by a current student of the class. On the program: Mateo Bourgogne, Franck Bovet, Ioshua Burstyn, Jean-Yves Colmant, François Couvreur, Delphine Derochette, Gilles Doneux, Michel Fourgon, Gilles Gobert, and Stefan Hejdrowski.

For the past 20 years, the Composition class has organized about ten public concerts each year in collaboration with numerous musical institutions active in Liège, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Flanders, or abroad. Over a thousand works by young composers have been premiered by several thousand singers and instrumentalists, in addition to several orchestras and ensembles (OPRL, Youth Orchestra of the Conservatory of Liège, Orchestre Convivium (Liège), Orchestre de la Grande Région, Orchestre Studio de Cergy Pontoise, Symphonie Orkest vlaanderen (Gand), l’orchestre “Les Agréments” (Namur), Chœur de chambre de Namur, Ensemble Hopper (Liège), Ensemble Musique Nouvelles (Mons), Ensemble 88 (Maastricht), Ensemble Sturm und Klang (Bruxelles), Ensemble Quasar (Montréal), various ensembles from the Crlg Chamber Music classes, etc.
